Buying a New Oven

Ovens in general are very convenient and it is no surprise to find them in almost every kitchen because of how useful this appliance is. It is probably just as convenient as the stove because there are plenty of foods that can be ready to eat by just putting them in the oven for an amount of time. However, just like most appliances, ovens are not exactly the same to each other so it is best to get the one that matches best with your application or the dishes often enjoyed by the family.

Know the oven before getting one because depending on what they are running on, the cooking experience can be different. They can work using gas or electricity and typically, those running on gas will only have the bottom heating element while electric ovens can have both bottom and top heating elements. There are gas ovens with both heating elements as well and this arrangement is more versatile for a wide range of cooking methods such as broiling since it usually only sears the top.

Do check if your oven has hot spots or several of them because it is very common and also the reason why we need to turn the baking tray halfway to avoid burning the food and just cook the food more evenly. The common method is line a baking tray or drip tray with flour at 350 degree Fahrenheit and let it brown for 30 minutes or more. This way we can see which areas in the ovens that heat faster so we can arrange the food better when cooking.

We can also buy an additional thermometer for the oven because even though they already come with one, they can be inaccurate. By using a dedicated thermometer we can be sure whether the temperature is hot enough for the food to cook. There are thermometers made for ovens so we can put it inside the cooking chamber while it is being heated to check whether the built-in one is true to the real temperature.

Just like all appliances and things in the house, we will need to clean our ovens from time to time or after cooking if you want to keep it clean and hygienic for the next use. Any piece of foods including dripped fats or liquids can burn so we need to remove them before cooking. We can easily perform routine cleaning with a damp sponge and some dishwashing soap. The abrasive part is useful to scrub and remove the stubborn part if necessary.

About Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart

Regardless of how they work, ovens are very convenient to have and an ideal choice for everyone who is often cooking at home or just wants to have something to prepare their food quickly. There are lots of options to choose from however and it is always wise to get the one that fits in the application you will be using them for. Besides the basic specs, you can consider the cooking modes as well because many ovens nowadays are much more capable than how they used to be.

Many can offer more than just the standard baking mode by also incorporating convection systems as well so we can do air frying in the same appliance and if this sounds very attractive, both Instant Pot and Cuisinart have the options to consider. We are personally more familiar with Instant Pot multi cooker and Cuisinart coffee maker or sandwich griddler but the two do have lots to offer in which one of them is oven and toaster oven combination with air frying function.

Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart toaster ovens are perfect choices for families or individuals who love to cook at home and want to have something that they can rely on when it comes to providing the cooking methods they want to use. For the Omni Plus, we are choosing their 11-in-1 variant but if this sounds too much then we can opt for the lesser one such as its 10 or 9-in-1 variant and for the Cuisinart toaster oven, we are choosing its TOA-60 model.

Do note that there are lots of similar models from these brands and this comparison is specific for these ovens only so the other variants will have some slight differences that may affect your buying decision. In comparison, the prominent difference between Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart toaster ovens will be the cooking menu and their adjustment but when it comes to convenience they will be pretty much the same. However, if you often cook something like dehydrating and rotisserie, we will recommend this version of Omni Plus.

Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart Design

From the outside these toaster ovens are very similar and as you can see, they do have this stainless steel finish that will look great on most kitchens. The oven’s dimensions are not the same however with the Omni Plus being slightly larger as its outer form factor is 17.68 x 16.34 x 14.39 inches while Cuisinart TOA-60 is 15.5 x 16 x 14 inches. As for the capacity, you can fit a 12-inch pizza inside this Omni Plus in which the Cuisinart is around 2-inches smaller side by side.

If you choose the TOA-60, there are other variants of finish than this silver one such as brown and blue but we do think this is the most flattering choice for kitchen appliances. They do put their control panel on the same side of the appliance or at the top and as you can see, this specific Cuisinart toaster oven is only using knobs and buttons to control the cooking modes while we also have a small display on the Omni Plus. Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart Cooking Modes

Moving further, let’s see what the Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart toaster ovens can offer starting from the cooking menu first and in this part the 11-in-1 Omni Plus will give you the wider versatility on what type of cooking we can use this oven for. Overall it provides functions to air fry, toast, bake, broil, roast, slow cook, reheat, proof, dehydrate, convection oven, and rotate function while on the other hand this TOA-60 is offering warm, broil convection broil, toast, bake, convection bake, and air fry function.

While significantly lesser, the Cuisinart TOA-60 is pretty much capable to cook lots of menus and cooking methods we often use but if your family often enjoy rotisserie chicken or roasted beef and using the oven to make snacks like jerky or dried fruits and veggies, this 11-in-1 Omni Plus will be the more ideal option. It also uniquely has proof mode so you can still proof the dough even though the temperature is cold outside.

Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart Timer and Temperature

Ovens’ ability to cook is highly affected by the temperature range and the timer it can provide so it is important to know what Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart toaster ovens can offer in this area. As for the highest temperature for air frying or baking, we can set these ovens up to 450 degree Fahrenheit but on the Omni Plus it is limited to cooking methods that require high heat only and for the timer we can set them up to 72 hours for dehydrate mode or 4 hours for proof mode.

Another advantage of this Omni Plus variant is that you can find preset options too, accessed from the main knob on your left. This preset is basically the type of ingredients that we often make such as fries, potato, or wings when choosing air fryer mode or bread and bagel when choosing the toast mode.

Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart Convenience

Lastly for the convenience, both Instant Omni Plus and Cuisinart toaster ovens are very much the same just like most ovens out there. These two have top and bottom heating elements so depending on the cooking mode we choose, they are controlled automatically. Cleaning them is fairly easy as well with just damp cloth if there is no stubborn grease inside and for the capacity we can use the top and bottom rack at the same time depending on what you are cooking.

Instant Omni Plus Vs Cuisinart

These ovens are very similar but not the same because for the specific models, you will get more cooking modes from Omni Plus as it comes with 11 functions including the dehydrating and proof option which makes it a more versatile oven as well. The two have the same maximum temperature setting but for the timer Omni Plus can cook for longer depending on the cooking mode. It is also slightly wider in the outer and cooking dimension so we can fit more inside.
